Sage Stallone gave the audition to John Avildsen, the director of the movie Rocky V, with 100 other kids. Then Sylvester Stallone brought the script and asked him whether he would like to do that character. Sage Stallone rushed to John’s house, sat in front of the camera, but he felt he didn’t do well and did not feel that he would be the one amongst the 100 kids to be chosen. A week later he got a call from John, saying he got the part and that was the most natural.

It was easier for Sage Stallone to work with his dad on the set, rather than someone else. Sylvester Stallone gave him several advices like be natural when you act only then the best will come out of you. This is what Sylvester Stallone does when he acts. It was easier for him to show his affection to Rocky, and he stays really focused when he was supposed to be mad at Rocky. The relation between Rocky and Rocky Jr. was really different from the relation between Sage Stallone and Sylvester Stallone. Sage Stallone doesn’t create that much trouble for his dad.
